Mrs. B offers something to tantalise every taste bud. She personally selects only the finest fruit and vegetables before combining them with a mouth-watering blend of herbs and spices. Subtle and authentic-tasting thanks to her frequent trips to India to source ingredients, it requires a great deal of experience and judgement to make these finely-spiced products. The unique taste of her products is achieved by using only the finest ingredients. She use fresh garlic, ginger, mangoes, tamarind, lime, fresh coriander and green chillies. |
Mrs. Bassa’s Indian Kitchen was started by Mrs Meena Bassa more than 20 years ago. Her aim was to create the finest chutneys and pickles. Since then, thousands of customers have enjoyed the flavours of Mrs. B's pickles and chutneys.
The business started in 1990 more as a hobby than a business. She took a short business course and soon turned over her kitchen at home to the project. After a year, it was so successful that she couldn’t carry on working from home and moved into a commercial kitchen on an industrial estate in Wandsworth, South London.
She did everything herself from buying to cooking. Most of her products are made fresh. Mrs. B's approach is to concentrate on a small number of the right spices.
Customers love what she prepares. She makes a delicious Aubergine Chutney and others include a spicy Prawn Balchao and a Coriander Dip. Most popular of all is the Garlic Chutney.

All of the chutneys and pickles are made by hand in small batches.
Her chutneys and pickles do not contain any preservatives, artificial additives or colourings.
As The Daily Telegraph said "If you're used to the blander flavour and gloopy texture of mass-produced chutneys and relishes, the bright, fresh taste of Mrs. B's spices will certainly come as a delicious shock."
